LAHORE: The Jammu Kashmir Movement (JKM) on Monday arranged countrywide demonstrations against the massacre of unarmed Kashmiris by the Indian army.

Events were held in every nook and corner of Pakistan including Azad Kashmir. Thousands of people from all walks of life took to roads and protested against Indian state terrorism in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) and the massacre of innocent Kashmiris. They chanted slogans against Indian aggression and deflagrated the Indian flag. Funeral prayers in absentia of Kashmiri martyrs were also offered in different cities.

In the provincial capital, a large demonstration was held outside the Lahore Press Club. Students, lawyers, traders, members of the civil society and a large number of people joined. They carried placards and banners bearing slogans against India and in favour of the oppressed Kashmiris.

Addressing the protest demonstration, JKM central leader Abul Hashim Rabbani urged the government to help the oppressed Kashmiris.

“We are with our oppressed Kashmiris brethren.  Heart of each Pakistani beats with Kashmiris. If the Indian army can wave the Indian flag then the Kashmiris too have right to wave the Pakistani flag,” he said and added that Kashmiris were fighting for the survival of Pakistan.

“All relations with India should be cut,” he added.

Pakistan Milli Liberation Foundation (PMLF) President Sirajuddin Saqib blamed India for committing state terrorism for a long time.

Pakistan Railway Workers Union (PRWU) President Sarfaraz Khan said that right of self-determination should be given to Kashmiris.

Ihsanul Haq Shahbaz, Moulana Idress Farouqi, Hafiz Usman Shafiq, Hafiz Masoodul Rehman and others also addressed the protest demonstration.

Meanwhile, in the federal capital, a demonstration was held against Indian aggression outside the Islamabad Press Club. A large number of people joined the protest and the gathering was addressed by JKM leader Shafiqul Rehman.

Similarly, protests and rallies against Indian terrorism were also carried out in Karachi, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Quetta, Faisalabad, Multan and Peshawar besides other cities, where several JKM leaders addressed the demonstrations. Funeral prayers of the martyred Kashmiris were also offered.
