Imran to distribute PTI’s election tickets himself

ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan will distribute party tickets for the 2018 general elections himself, a notification issued by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said on Tuesday.

The PTI chief also said no one would be able to sell party ticket from now on. He vowed to not let a repeat of Senate elections happen in future. PTI will not be involved in buying and selling of votes, he added.

In a meeting on Monday, the board decided to immediately commence the process of nominating candidates and mulled over the procedure of doing so.

The PTI chief said that there would be no specific quota and strong candidates would be fielded for the 2018 election. He said, “The party will field candidates in most constituencies [than any other party].”

PTI CHIEF’S EXEMPTION PLEA IN PTV ATTACK CASE ACCEPTED

The anti-terrorism court on Monday accepted the exemption plea of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and others in Parliament and PTV attack case during 2014 sit-ins and adjourned the case proceedings till April 25.

According to details, the anti-terrorism court was hearing a case pertaining to an attack on Parliament and PTV, with judge Shahrukh Arjumand in the chair. Accused Imran Khan and other leaders did not appear before the court.

Imran Khan’s counsel said that the PTI chairman could not appear before the court due to his busy schedule and, therefore, asked the court to adjourn the proceedings.

The court accepted his plea and adjourned the proceedings till April 25.

On March 27, the court gave exemption to Imran Khan from appearing in court proceedings and adjourned the hearing till April 10.
