The Ministry of Housing and Works, after the approval from Prime Minster Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, has accelerated its efforts to get vacated the official residences from retired officers.
These retired officers included former Motorway Police IG Zulfikar Cheema, former federal secretary Nadeem Hassan Asif, Akhlaq Tarar and Agha Nadeem. At least 21 re-employed top retired bureaucrats had been served notices by the Housing Ministry to vacate the government houses they had been staying in during their term in office.
Former PM Nawaz Sharif approved the summaries of re-hiring of the officials in the last four years.
According to the available documents, retired officers including Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema, Executive Director NAVATAC, Akhlaq Ahmed Tarar, Member Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), Syed Rafiq Hussain, Member Federal Service Tribunal, Parveen Shahnaz senior teacher of grade-17, Javeed Akram former Vice Chancellor Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University, Agha Nadeem, Advisor Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat, Haseeb Athar Member FPSC, Nadeem Hassan Asif , member FPSC, Riffat Saleem Rator, Medical Officer National Highway and Motorways Police, Najeeb Ullah Khan are still residing in the houses in sectors F-6 and G-6. The houses will be allotted to the recently promoted government officials.
