4 killed, 2 injured in Jhelum coal mine accident

JHELUM: At least four labourers, including two brothers, were killed while two others were injured when explosions caused collided in a coal mine in Tilla Jogian in Jhelum, the area within the jurisdiction of Domeli Police Station.

According to SHO Zahid Khan, six labourers were busy digging coal in the mine when all of a sudden it collapsed trapping them underneath.

Followed the incident, the locals rushed to the site and tried to pull out the trapped labourers, while rescue teams also reached.

Two of the labourers were rescued while four others died under the debris.

The dead ones were identified as Rehmatullah, Sabir Rehman and two brothers Naseebzada and Naseebullah and all belonged to Shangla District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The collapsed mines belong to Arifullah and famous as Ali Mines.
