3600 MW gas power plants were set up in Punjab: Shehbaz

ISLAMABAD: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government had set up 3600 MW gas power plants from its own resources in the province.

During his visit to Bhikki Gas Power Plant, the chief minister said that the PML-N government had established 3600 MW gas power plants with its own resources and due to the plants, load-shedding had been generally eliminated. The chief minister said that electricity projects had been completed with rapid acceleration during PML-N’s tenure.

He said that PML-N’s opponents had only plundered national resources ruthlessly in the name of power projects, adding that they were lying only as they could not generate even one megawatt in their province while PML-N government had generated thousands of megawatts of power in a few months.

The chief minister inspected various parts of the power plant and later presided over a meeting with officials where he was briefed about it.
