Rangers recover weapons from Karachi’s Surjani Town

KARACHI:  A large cache of arms has been recovered in Karachi’s Surjani Town  after an intelligence-based raid conducted by Paramilitary Rangers on Saturday.

The arms were buried underground of a house under construction. A statement released by the Rangers said that the weapons were used for targeted killings and other crimes in the city.

Two sub-machine guns (SMG’s), an MP-5, shotguns and pistols were recovered in additions to a thousand rounds of ammunition.

A Rangers spokesman said that the weapons were stored by criminal entitites belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-London).

Police Raids:

Meanwhile, 13 alleged criminals have been arrested during raids conducted by Karachi Police. Stolen motorcycles and illegal weapons were recovered as well.

Raids in Mushki Para area of Manghopir led to arrest of 10 suspects while raids in Azizabad and Joharabad led to three arrests and recovery of stolen motorbikes, mobiles phones and illegal weapons.
