COLOMBO: A complete all-around performance from Pakistan Women saw them defend 113 against their Sri Lankan counterparts by 38 runs in the third Twenty20 International in Colombo to take the series 2-1.

According to a report by CricketWorld, Sri Lanka opted to bowl first on winning the toss. Sidra Ameen (23) and Nahida Khan (19) had a sedate start to the innings scoring 33 runs in the first seven overs. Sugandika Kumari (2-20) dented their momentum by dismissing both while Shashikala Siriwardene (1-20) removed Bismah Maroof (1).

Javeria Khan (38) and Nida Dar (22) began the consolidation with a 41 run stand for the fourth wicket but both were victims of Oshadi Ranasinghe (2-23).

The late flourish which Pakistan hoped for did not come as Sri Lanka restricted the visitors to 113 for six in the 20 overs.

In the chase, only Anushka Sanjeewani (14) and Imalka Mendis (25 not out) crossed double-figure mark but a disciplined bowling attack from Pakistan led by Maroof (2-14) kept the home side down to 75 for eight in the 20 overs.

The 38-run victory meant Pakistan end the tour with a 2-1 series victory.
