ABBOTTABAD: A newly-wed couple was shot dead for honour by in-laws of the youth here on Saturday.
Police said that a youngster hailing from suburbs of Abbottabad city entered into a love marriage with a girl without the consensus of her family around a month ago. The couple had escaped their homes but their families approached them.
The in-laws called the youngster and the girl assuring them for resolving the dispute and to organise a ceremony to formally announce their wedding. However, the boy along with his wife upon reaching the house of the in-laws were both shot dead.
The bodies were shifted to hospital for postmortem and the police after registering a case into the incident started raids to arrest the culprits involved in the dual murder.
