–PPP chief says PML-N policies widened gap between rich and poor

–Accuses IRSA of usurping Sindh’s water share

SANGHAR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday warned that his party will not tolerate any “attack” on the 18th Constitutional Amendment which guarantees provincial autonomy.

“The PML-N is trying to attack 18th Amendment because it grants autonomy to provinces. They have not even given NFC award in five years. This amendment is the fruit of our years-long struggle so we will not tolerate such attacks,” the PPP chief said while speaking to a party rally in Sanghar.

The PPP chairman also alleged that Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) is ruining the region and during its 50-year rule while only PPP served the people.

“All development projects were initiated and completed in PPP rule,” added Bilawal.

The PPP supremo also criticised the ruling PML-N and PTI for fighting for political gains rather than serving people.

He said the gap between the rich and poor is widening due to the incumbent government’s failed policies.

Bilawal blamed increasing poverty on PML-N and said that the ruling party has a pro-rich policy which creates a divide between the people of Pakistan.

“We are giving out interest-free loans in Sindh and have managed to assist 0.6 million people out of poverty,” the PPP scion claimed.

Discussing the issue of water, he said, “Water is the most crucial need of a human being and the Indus River System Authority (ISRA) is not giving Sindh its fair share of water”.

“We are not trying to fix water problems because of suo motu notices but we have been trying to help Sindh for decades. We are the most deprived province when it comes water,” claimed Bilawal.

The PPP chairperson further said that 1,700 RO plants have been installed and a 240km long water pipeline has been spread across Sindh to ensure the provision of water.

“We are not claiming that we have fixed everything but our hard work and intentions cannot be questioned. We are into politics to work for the people. All the development work in Sindh has been laid down by PPP. You can lift any stone and you will know that its PPP which laid the grounds of solid work here,” he maintained.

Bilawal also took a jibe at the PML-N and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) political games, claiming that their party narrative is anti-nationalistic.

“All that these parties have done over the course of five years is fight,” he said.

“The people want solutions to their problems, they want education, they want food, they want roti kapra makaan, and this is what the PPP aims to provide,” he said.

Bilawal further said that when the PPP came into power, there was a lot of disturbance and chaos that had to be fixed by the party.
