West Indies on late Thursday announced their 13-member squad for the three T20I matches against Pakistan in Karachi.

With Jason Mohammed as captain, prominent Windies players including Samuel Badree, Andre Fletcher, Marlon Samuels and Chadwick Walton will be touring Pakistan for three consecutive matches on April 1-3.

With a few West Indies’ players – including Carlos Brathwaite – opting out of the tour, the board still managed to rope in thirteen players in the squad. Chairman of Cricket West Indies Selection Panel, Courtney Browne said, “We had a few players including regular T20I captain Carlos Brathwaite that opted not to tour Pakistan, due to their or their families’ security concerns and CWI have fully accepted their position.”

Also, Cricket West Indies Chief Executive Officer Jonny Grave said, “This tour is a further major step for our friends at the PCB to bring their cricket back home and we are pleased that our players and support staff have recognised this and supported this venture.”
