LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry said on Friday that it had been proven now that the Sharif family had been involved in financial crimes.

Addressing a press conference, he said that PTI was closely monitoring the ongoing trial of the Sharif family in the accountability court and added that it must be noticed that the former prime minister’s sons, Hasan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz, had refused to present themselves before the court.

Earlier, on March 28, Chaudhry, in a press conference in Faisalabad, said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was currently seeking refuge from the state institutions and added that if any NRO-like relief was given to them then PTI would go for street protests.

He alleged that former premier Nawaz Sharif and former finance minister Ishaq Dar had ruined the country’s economy as due to their policies, the Pakistani rupee had plummeted against US dollar.

Chaudhry said that his party had called for general elections at the earliest as the country was going through severe political instability.
