MOHR takes notice of Jaranwala child abuse, video sharing cases

FAISALABAD: Federal Ministry of Human Rights on Friday took a serious notice of the emergence of child abuse and video sharing cases in Jaranwala.

According to a press statement, on the directions of the ministry’s federal minister and secretary, a team of officers sent by Lahore regional director visited Jaranwala and met with police officials, families of the victims and locals.

The police briefed the team on steps taken to arrest the culprits. The team was satisfied with the efforts of the police and steps taken by the Faisalabad CPO and Jaranwala SP.

The victims were assured of full support of the government to protect their dignity.

Earlier on Monday, Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif had taken notice of the Jaranwala video scandal involving a paedophile group. According to details, an eight-member group allegedly raped minor children and recorded their videos to blackmail the victims and their families.
