KARACHI: Ace director Asim Raza is all set to return to the silver screen with his second film after the success of his directorial debut Ho Mann Jahaan.
The film titled, Paray Hat Luv, will star Mahira Khan and Sheheryar Munawar in lead roles along with Zara Noor Abbas and is scheduled to release on Eid-ul-Azha 2019.
Mahira and Sheheryar were part of Ho Mann Jahaan, however, the director has promised that the film will be very different from his previous venture.
“Ho Mann Jahaan was a serious drama film with a very different story and characters,” he said, adding that Paray Hat Luv is “is young, fresh and vivacious. The content of the film is engaging and the canvas is larger and vibrant.”
“The story plays on an underlying fear of today’s generation to commit to anything in life. The story promises to be a journey of romance, emotion, drama and witty puns.”
On why he chose Mahira, for the second time, the director commented, “Mahira first worked with me when she was very young and I have seen her grow as an actor and she’s someone I can work with well.”
“As a director, you choose stars according to who you can work with easily and who you know will deliver and fully commit to working over a period of six months.”
Meanwhile, Zara Noor Abbas said that she ecstatic over this new development and couldn’t have found a better team to make a film debut with. Without detailing on her character, Abbas said that though she did she not have a lead role, her character is important to the film.
Zara’s husband and Adnan Siddiqui’s nephew, Asad Siddiqui, took to Instagram to make the announcement. Sharing a picture of Zara, he wrote, “Baby you’re on fire! I’m so proud of you for your debut in Asim Raza’s next. Way to go!”
The film is expected to be produced by Munwar and will also star Nadeem Baig, Hina Dilpazeer, Ahmed Ali Butt and Rachel Viccaji.
Mahira and Sheheryar are currently gearing up for the release of their second film together, Saat Din Mohabbat In, which is expected to release on Eid-ul-Fitr 2018.
