ISLAMABAD – Striking a firm reminder that they would return to hating on her for being seen with a cigarette again, nation’s misogynists have told star actor Mahira Khan that her smoking has slipped to second on their priority list after the return of education activist and Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai to Pakistan, sources privy to the development have informed The Dependent.
“We are people – yes not just men, people – of principles, so we’re against keeping anyone hanging without informing them of our commitment,” one of the prominent figures in the movement informed this scribe.
“So we have told Mahira that our focus will immediately return back to her cigarette and the unpardonable act of smoking once the hype surrounding Malala dies down – which I believe Mahira would understand won’t be happening anytime soon.”
Conceding that Mahira’s welcome message on Malala on Twitter was “naturally” owing to the relief that the actor would feel knowing that she will get at least some respite from the bashing, nation’s misogynists have also accepted that they could’ve created a scene against Mahira much earlier.
“Between Mahira’s smoking development and Malala’s arrival, there was sufficient time for us to create some noise. We should’ve reacted earlier against the actor – Mahira that is,” said another member of the movement.
