ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has decided to expedite the project pertaining to the construction of four sewage treatment plants in catchment areas to save the water of Rawal Lake from pollution.
The treatment plants will be constructed at lower Shadhra, upper Shadhra, Bani Gala and Bhara Kahu.
This was decided at a meeting chaired by the Islamabad Chief Commissioner Aftab Akbar Durrani which was attended by the officials of Capital Development Authority (CDA), Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and representatives of Punjab government.
The project will be completed by MCI and it has revised the PC-1 and 36 per cent expenditure will be borne by the Punjab government.
