MARDAN: Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali Khan said on Wednesday Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari exposed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in the Senate elections.
Speaking at Mardan House, he claimed, “The PTI betrayed Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI-S) chief Maulana Samiul Haq in the elections.”
He further said that the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) was being revived for “Islamabad and not Islam”.
Reiterating the party’s demand of merging the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Khan said the ANP would never relinquish the demand.
“FATA should be given adequate representation in the KP Assembly before the next general elections and the writ of the Peshawar High Court should be extended to FATA,” he added.
Asfandyar, while highlighting rising resentment among internally displaced persons (IDPs), said they should be quickly repatriated and compensated for losses incurred in the wake of military operations.
