ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Religious Affairs has challenged the decision of Islamabad High Court (IHC) in Supreme Court (SC), regarding the reduction in hajj quota under government Hajj scheme.

The ministry had taken the plea that government quota was fixed at 67 per cent under the Hajj policy but the IHC had reduced it to 60 per cent without taking the correct review of laws and facts.

The petition says that the Hajj balloting had not taken place due to legal proceedings and if balloting is delayed, then Hajj operation will be affected and detailed information about flight operation has to be provided till May at any cost.

The court has been requested to nullify IHC’s decision and suspend the order till the final decision of this case.

  1. Ministry of Religious Affairs & All Government Membrane :
    ALLAH is watching …
It will be better to fix all your own items in the world.
Otherwise, in front of ALLAH, you will meet all the people with all the pilgrimage….

  2. I am really disappointed with the Current Government. How they are managing Hajj 2018 is unbelievable. Why they are taken so much time to give final verdict about remaining Hajj Quota 17% or 10% whatever. It is pertinent to note that interested pilgrims have deposited money for Hajj 2018 in Jan 2018 and at first balloting 287,187 application were term as Unsuccessful out of total applications of 375,000(approx.). However, Govt immediately informed that pilgrims who are unsuccessful may be selected for 2nd round of balloting who does not draw cash and till than no one has withdraw his cash and anticipated that he will may get chance for Hajj this year.
Roughly, Banks on behalf of Government still holding cash of Rs. 70.0 Billion right now(on behalf of unsuccessful applications) and getting daily Interest Income of Rs. 10.5Mn approx. and up to date received Interest Income of Rs. 632Mn from these application. This is quite embracing that Government is fetching income from Hajjis too.
I personally request Govt. / Supreme Court or COAS to look into the matter and resolved the Hajj Quota issue on immediate basis.

  3. I is the responsibility for Govt. of Pakistan to facilitate Hajj 2018 final balloting without any restriction. Over all balloting should be handled according to Govt Law about Hajj 2018, because people have been deposited the Hajj dues to Banks on the Trust of Govt. of Pakistan are waiting for positive reply.

  4. I request to SC to please resolve this matter in emergency base with out more delay.
