ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain said that Pakistan wanted to enhance diplomatic and economic relations with all countries, including those from Africa, South America and Europe.
The president was talking to envoys of Botswana, Ecuador and Finland who separately called on him after presenting their credentials to the president in a ceremony held at President House on Wednesday.
Mamnoon Hussain said that Pakistan, being a responsible member of the international community, was working in close collaboration with other countries at all multilateral and international forums. He said that economic indicators of Pakistan had improved due to the policies of the incumbent government and had also been recognised by international economic institutions.
The president said that Pakistan was providing business opportunities and a very conducive environment for investment. Foreign investors should avail those opportunities by investing in diverse areas, he added.
He felicitated the newly appointed ambassadors to Pakistan and hoped that they would work for further strengthening the existing ties of their respective countries with Pakistan.
The envoys who presented their credentials included Botswana’s Ambassador-Designate Mothusi Bruce Rabasha Palai, Ecuador’s Ambassador-Designate German Alejandro Ortega Almeida and Finland’s Ambassador-Designate Harri Kamarainen.
As part of the long standing tradition, the envoy-designates arrived at the President House in a horse-driven carriage where they were presented a Guard of Honour.
