Pakistan, China share common dream of regional development: Sanjrani

ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani on Wednesday said that Pakistan and China have common agenda for regional development and a shared dream for prosperity of the Asian people as the mutual ties are deep rooted in the history.

He expressed these views while talking to Ambassador of China Yao Jing, who called on him here at the Parliament House, a press release said.

The ambassador congratulated the Senate chairman and extended an invitation on behalf of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPC) chairman.

Senate chairman, while accepting the invitation, said he would pay the first official visit to the China.

He said that One Belt One Road (OBOR) project would open new vista for the regional development particularly in Asia.

He said the relationship between the two countries is based on strategic needs which always remain strong irrespective of the fact which party has the government in Pakistan.

He expressed the hope that the Parliamentary relationship between the two countries would be further strengthened in future.

The Senate chairman said the parliamentary relations play an important role in furthering the development agenda for economic prosperity.

He said Pakistan values its relation with China and appreciates the Chinese cooperation for China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which, he said, is now a reality.

He said China may consider future cooperation with Pakistan in education sector and should send more Chinese students to study in Pakistan.

He said Balochistan, particularly Gwadar, has huge potential for investment and China may invest in establishing Metal Refinery in the province.

The Senate chairman appreciated the cooperation offered by the Chinese ambassador for developing sports infrastructure in Balochistan, especially for the promotion of the football in Makran region.
