ISLAMABAD: Federal Secretary for Information and Pakistan Television (PTV) Managing Director (MD) Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera on Wednesday said that there was no proposal under consideration to privatise the state television and the postings and transfers in the state television were part of the efforts for its improvement.
He said that PTV’s progress and the welfare of its employees was his top priority, for which all necessary measures were being taken. He said that the building of the state television was neither handed over to any private firm, nor any proposal was in the pipeline for partnership with the private sector.
He rejected all negative news and propaganda in that regard, saying it had no reality. Sukhera said that transfers and postings in PTV were aimed at providing an opportunity to workers so that they could perform and deliver as per their skills and capabilities.
He said that majority of employees were performing their duties in other sections instead of their relevant departments, which was affecting efficiency of the institution and wasting employees’ capabilities.
Shukhera said that transfers and postings in PTV were part of the steps being taken for bringing improvement in the institution.
