LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) set aside a notification by finance ministry of the levy of regulatory duty on almost 700 imported items, reported a local English newspaper.

Justice Shahid Karim gave the verdict, allowing several petitions filed by industries challenging an October 2017 notification, issued by the finance ministry for being illegal.

The lawyer of petitioners argued before the court that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) imposed the regulatory duty under the ministry’s notification.
