PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Elementary and Secondary Education Department (E&SED) made history Tuesday by enrolling Syed Muhammad Sudais, a special child from Mardan, and connecting him online to a nearby community school in Farm Koroona, Dargai.

KP Minister for Education Atif Khan was present at the home of Sudais, and on the occasion, he also launched annual enrolment drive in the province.

This was made possible through Elementary & Secondary Education Foundation (ESEF) in collaboration with Tele Taleem under ILM2 project of DFID, which has brought high-quality online teachers in English, Maths and Science to over 130 community schools across the province.

Sudais was homebound since last three years due to partial paralysis of his body due to which he could not attend school.  He had earlier studied up to grade 4 and his cognitive faculties were intact.

By enrolling Sudais, KP Elementary and Secondary Education Department achieved yet another milestone by opening doors of educational enlightenment to children like him who have been forced out of the education system due to physical challenges.
