FUUAST teachers observe ‘black day’ against withdrawal of allowances



KARACHI: The teachers of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) observed a ‘black day’ against the withdrawal of their allowance here on Tuesday.

According to the details, FUUAST Teachers Association Abdul campus President of Dr Ismail Moosa presided over an emergency meeting to remark a ‘black day’ to condemn not giving house ceiling allowance to teachers and other staff.

The meeting was attended by FUUAST Senate Member Najmul Arfeen, Secretary General Dr Irfan Aziz, syndicate Member Dr Mamnoon Hussain, Members of Academic Council, Dr Azadi Feth, Dr Tasneem Fatima, Dr Aouj-e-Kamal, Dr Masroor Khanum and a large number of other teachers.

The teachers demanded from the university administration to resolve their issues on an emergency basis or otherwise, the university employees and teachers would be compelled to boycott teaching.

In the meeting, it was also announced to support the campaign of University of Karachi’s teachers against universities amendment act.
