NA standing committee informed about plans to establish aviation city in Kamra

KAMRA: The 49th meeting of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on Defence Production was held on Tuesday at the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) in Kamra under the chairmanship of the member of the National Assembly (MNA) Khawaja Sohail Mansoor. The meeting was informed about plans of establishing an aviation city in Kamra.

On the occasion, a PAC representative briefed the committee about the new commercial products that were being manufactured in the facility. He informed that PAC was currently working on its core project, titled ‘Azm’, which would be completed in 11 years.

The committee was also briefed about the future plans of establishing an aviation city in Kamra. The representative further informed that PAC had decided to start an ‘Education Research and Development Programme’ with the ultimate goal of developing a strong indigenous aviation industry.

He said PAC wanted to develop private and other public sector organisations to be able to provide complete solutions to the end users.

The committee was further informed that PAC had increased its efforts in connection with providing vocational training to youth and had invited more organisations to open vocational institutes. After receiving a detailed briefing, the committee appreciated the efforts made by PAC.

MNAs Muhammad Khan Daha, Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Amra Khan, Asiya Nasir and Bilal Rehman attended the meeting. The meeting was also attended by senior officers of PAC.
