ISLAMABAD: In the latest development, 10 senior officers of Commerce and Trade Group (CTG) and their wives are dual nationals possessing Canadian and Australian nationalities, it was learnt reliably.
Sources told Pakistan Today that Nasir Hamid and Dr Zaeem Ahmed working in Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) hold Canadian nationalities and do their wives.
Another official named Seem Khan and her husband hold Australian nationalities while Sierra Hague working in Trade Dispute Resolution Authority has the nationality of USA. Moreover, Geneva Commercial Counselor Muhammad Myosin Rafael and his wife are Canadian nationals.
The WTO JS Samara Ashen and her husband are Canadian nationals, along with National Tariff Commission (NTC) Member Tipu Sultan and Trading Corporation of Pakistan Director Iftikhar and his wife.
Similarly, Imam Mehmood working in PIFD has a nationality of New Zeeland, Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) Director General Raheela Tajwar’s husband is USA national and Hong Kong Consul General Abdul Nadir’s wife is a national of UK.
Moreover, Commercial Counselor Nasheeta Mohsin’s husband possesses the nationality of USA while Spain Commercial Counsellor Dr Hamid Ali and Muhammad Kamran disclosed that their wives were UK nationals.
Also, wife of another official Zohaib Azhar holds German nationality.
It is pertinent to mention here that the FIA had informed the Supreme Court that a total of 210 civil servants concealed their dual nationality status. The top court of Pakistan had also issued notices to 147 federal and 219 other officials who kept secret their spouses’ nationalities from authorities.
