ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) senior leader Raja Zafarul Haq said that election of Senate chairman had taken place in an undemocratic manner in the guise of democracy.

He said that Prime Minster Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s statement about Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjarani was based on facts.

He said that the cat and mouse game with democracy in Pakistan should come to an end.

“Let the democratic forces flourish here because the survival of this country lies in democracy,” he said.

He underlined that the undemocratic forces played their heinous role exactly on the occasion of polls. Several people were given threats and they voted for Sanjarani under duress and out of fear.

He observed that PML-N leadership was fighting for the survival of democracy.

“How sad it is that the PPP leaderships sacrificed their lives for the sake of democracy and their heirs are playing in the hands of undemocratic forces today,” he said.

“Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan is an asset of PML-N. Difference of opinion prevails in every party and Nisar reservations will be removed,” he added.

He said that he had personal terms with former finance minister Ishaq Dar.

“I continue to exchange calls with him to inquire about his health,” he said.
