KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that research process is used in various fields and is applicable to a variety of situations, which assists in developing better organisational and planning skills while simultaneously increasing insight and knowledge.
He said this while addressing at the second two-day International Conference on Computer and Information Science, 2018 at PAF KIET Institute here on Monday.
The minister said that incorporating research writing and reading in the classroom enhances students’ connection to their own learning.
Nasir Hussain Shah further said that computer science in an exciting, fast and diverse field. It pervades many areas from science to industry and plays a vital role in all aspects of society, he added.
“Computer science has the dual nature of being an engineering science as well as a basic science, concerned with fundamental concepts including processes, computation, information and communication,” he said.
Similarly, he added that there are diverse areas of research like artificial intelligence, computer architecture and engineering, bio-systems and computational biology, database management systems, operating systems and networking, human-computer interaction and many more.
He stated that researchers from Pakistan as well as from foreign countries were attending the conference and they are contributing their share in strengthening the culture of research and development in Pakistan.
He also congratulated the faculty and management of PAF KIET for organising the conference successfully and offered full support and cooperation on the behalf of the Sindh government.
Later, Minister Nasir Hussain Shah, while talking to media, said that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah deserved praises for undertaking elaborate and pragmatic measures to make PSL final matches successful. He added that credit for law and order must go to the armed forces.
Addressing at an international workshop, he said that the federal government did not provide a single penny to share security expenses, even though it had promised to bear 50 per cent expenditures.
He said that frustration of some federal ministers was palpable to see successful events of PSL matches.
