TOBA TEK SINGH: Pirmahal police on Sunday arrested 12 people for ordering ‘revenge rape’ of a young girl, according to a local media outlet.

According to the report, Sub-Inspector Shaukat Ali alleged that suspect Wasim Saeed of Gharibabad, Pirmahal, had raped N* on March 20— a first information report (FIR) had subsequently been registered against the accused.

However, 12 members of both the families had subsequently approved in a joint meeting that the victim’s brother would ‘rape the suspect’s sister for reconciliation’.

On March 21, victim’s brother committed the “revenge rape”.

According to the media outlet, the sub-inspector said that both the parties had decided on a stamp paper that no party will take legal action against each other.

Police registered the FIR and all 12 accused were arrested on Saturday night. The arrested persons were identified as Zaman, Nawaz, Naeem, Yasin, Salim, Bilal, Wasim, Ramzan, Rubina, Wasim’s mother Naziran and two other women.

The matter is being further investigated by the police.
