–Ch Sarwar says PML-N fearing defeat in upcoming elections
LAHORE: Office bearers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) from Lahore Cantonment headed by Siddique Gill of the party’s minority wing announced joining the Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday.
Reposing full confidence in the leadership of PTI chief Imran Khan, the ex-PML-N members made the announcement during a meeting with PTI central Punjab President Abdul Aleem Khan.
Aleem Khan while addressing the public meeting at New Jamal Town said, “All of us are proud of Khan who can never be accused of any financial embezzlement.”
He said that Khan’s 21-year-long political struggle had given a new vision to the youth of Pakistan and no politician could now dare to befool the masses.
Aleem also said the people of Lahore Cantonment had supported Imran Khan in 2013 and now in 2018, they would again prove their unflinching commitment to bring change in Pakistan.
He welcomed all those who announced to join the PTI and said that welfare-oriented politics were the main objective of his life and he had been working for the betterment of the society irrespective of political affiliation.
The public meeting, arranged by Mohammad Akbar Gujar, was also attended by Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Mohammad Shoaib Siddiquee. In his address, Siddiquee said that the PTI was working to handover a corruption-free Pakistan to the next generation.
Separately, Pakistan People’s Party leader Shabbir Manj along with 50 other local party leaders on Monday announced joining the PTI.
They announced their decision during a meeting with Senator Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar.
Sarwar, at the occasion, said that the PML-N was the “founder of horse trading” in Pakistan and was now speaking of rigging in the Senate elections.
“The PML-N does not want timely elections in Pakistan because they are afraid of losing. PML-N’s corruption and looting is a threat to democracy,” he said and added that the PTI was not a supporter of a judicial martial law. “Only Sheikh Rashid himself can answer his claims,” said the Senator.
“The Senate chairman has been elected from Balochistan and it is the entire nation’s success,” concluded Sarwar.
Addressing the meeting, Rai Hassan Nawaz and Chaudhary Ashfaq said people were leaving the PML-N due to its corruption. “In the next elections, the PTI will gain unprecedented victory in Punjab. There is no conspiracy against the PML-N, but corruption and plundering of national resources are leading the party to its political death,” they added.
