ISLAMABAD:  Online services that provide consumers with domestic help are booming in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, according to reports.

Customers being provided with maids have expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the services being offered by companies that connect potential customers with domestic helpers. A resident of the twin cities has told reporters that most families are unable to afford the services of a maid on a monthly basis, but can easily hire domestic helpers per hour.

“This is good to hire home maids for per hour instead of hiring for a month. Most families are unable to pay per month salaries to maids for months but they can easily hire the services of these per maids from the online service providers,” Nageena Hayat said.

Talking to the media, the owner of one such online service provider, Suniya Saadullah Khan, observed that the first tool she had developed is an on-demand service for maids and cleaners.

“We provide temporary personnel for urgent needs, for which we charge the customer an hourly rate,” she noted.

“We intend to be an online platform that connects uneducated female workers with real-time work opportunities,“ she added.

“We have domestic help earning a minimum of Rs 20,000 a month. This increase in their income has enabled them to pay off loans they had taken, pay for their children’s school fees, and shift their families into better neighbourhoods,” she elaborated further, explaining her business model.

“Our customers choose us for the verified staff and the service quality we provide, while workers sign up to our platform because of the potential to earn a higher than average salary.” Khan said.

A house wife who has availed the services, Samina Arshad, has reviewed her experiences with hiring maids through the internet.

“Through this platform, I feel so easy and relaxed, on one phone call, I get the maid on hourly rates,” she stated.
