Man kills his four children including three girls in Gujrat

GUJRAT: A Father killed his four children. Including three girls and one boy, in Gujrat using an axe, police told media on Sunday.

According to details, the incident took place in the Saraye Alamgir area where accused named Ayub axed to death his children – Amana, 12, Nadia, 10, Ayesha, 8, and Zeeshan, 3.

Ayub had locked the children in a room and mercilessly killed them while the children’s mother was not present, officials told media.

Police took the father into custody and recovered the murder weapon from the house. Only one of their children, a 15-year-old boy, survived the attack since he was at the neighbour’s house, police added.

Talking to media, SHO Saddar Fiaz Ahmed said, “The children include three girls aged 10, 8 and 6 years old, respectively, and one boy aged 12. In a stroke of luck, the eldest child, a 15-year-old boy survived the attack whilst he was away at a neighbour’s house.”

“[The father had] grown tired of poverty, butchered his children to death with an axe,” he added.

The bodies of the victims were shifted to the THQ hospital in Sarai Alamgir. The police said they have launched an investigation of the incident, however, the case is yet to be registered.

On March 24, three minors were killed in a locality near the Bedian area of the city. According to the local police, all three were strangled to death by their mother, Anika. Police told that upon reaching Anika’s house they found her sitting on a sofa with marks on her wrist after which they suspected the woman to be the children’s murderer considering her a person with mental disabilities, however, the mother accused a friend of hers of the killings.
