–Says PML-N proved its sincerity by serving masses during five-year tenure

NANKANA SAHIB: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Saturday inaugurated the newly constructed 612-metre long Rai Mansab Ali Khan Kharal Bridge on the River Ravi.

“The construction work on the bridge had been hitting snags during the previous governments, but the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government gave it a priority and ensured funds for its completion,” he said while addressing the inauguration ceremony. PM Abbasi also said that it was a long-standing demand of the people residing on both sides of the Ravi River for the bridge would ease their crossing and commuting.

He lauded the performance of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and said that other link roads in the area beside Phool Nagar and the Nankana motorway link would also be constructed.

It may be noted that during the monsoon, it was impossible for the people to cross the bridge and they had to cover a long distance to cross the river, but now, the bridge would provide short access to Okara and Jaranwala, besides, facilitating vehicular traffic heading to GT road on the right side. The heavy traffic would get access to important agricultural and industrial centres of Jaranwala, Nankana Sahib, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Chiniot and Sargodha.

The premier also said the PML-N had always stood guard for the democratic system, facing all conspiracies and “dharna-driven politics” during its five-year tenure and successfully delivered on all its promises, besides working for the people.

PM Abbasi said the PML-N-led government worked despite all odds and challenges.

“Only an elected government which has the sincerity to serve the masses can deliver and it was only the PML-N which proved this sincerity by serving the masses during the past five years, on the other hand, the nation witnessed dharna politics and specific legal cases,” he added.

“The specific legal cases, including the Panama Papers case, brought instability in the country otherwise it would have been on the path of rapid progress,” he said and called upon the voters to understand the significance of all the happenings.

Punjab Governor Rafique Rajwana and State Minister for Power Abid Sher Ali were also present on the occasion.
