KARACHI: An accountability court on Saturday adjourned the hearing of corruption reference of Rs17 billion against Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Dr Asim Hussain till March 31.
Others accused in the same reference including Zohair Siddique, Iqbal Ahmed and others appeared in court. Counsel for Dr Asim informed the court during the hearing that Dr Asim is out of the country for treatment.
The court accepted Dr Asim pleas for exemption from attendance while the lawyers of the other accused have sought time in connection with an objection on National Accountability Bureau (NAB) witness Anwar Sehtoo.
In response to that, the court accepted the reasons presented by the accused and adjourned the hearing till March 31.
