  • Brother and his brother-in-law committed to crime over land dispute in Peshawar’s outskirts

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar police have arrested the alleged killers involved in the brutal assassination of five members of a family of Yahya Khan three days back in the outskirts of Peshawar who happened to be his brother and brother-in-law as both committed to the crime over the land dispute.

SSP Operations Javed Iqbal told journalists here that the police have arrested the main accused Junaid Khan and Amir Khan, brother and brother-in-law of slain Yahya Khan, Lab Assistant at the UET Peshawar respectively and recovered weapons used in the offence within 72 hours of the incident.

The accused have confessed to their crimes before the police investigation team in the initial interrogation, the senior police official said. He said that dispute over land and some domestic matters stated to be the main reason behind the merciless assassination of the entire family of Yayha Khan.

The police was also trying to track down whereabouts of Junaid’s two sisters who are missing after the incident. The SSP maintained that soon after the incident, the police chief immediately instructed CCPO to personally investigate the case.

The police team have expanded the investigation scope in the incident and succeeded in apprehending the culprits. The police have seized the weapons used in the offence on the pointation of the accused.

On March 20, Aurangzeb, son of Ayub Khan who is resident of Tarnab Farm in Chamkani, uncle of slain Yahya Khan lodged an FIR in Chamkani Police Station that he was in his home when he heard about the incident and immediately rushed to the site.

Upon reaching the site, he saw his nephew Yahya Khan, his wife, two minor kids and his sister-in-law brutally murdered.
