National flag hoisted 5,577 ft above sea-level in Balochistan to mark Pakistan Day

KARACHI: The Pakistan flag was hoisted and lit on the Jandran Ridge in Kohlu, Balochistan to mark the 78th Pakistan Day.

The flag approximately measures 300×200 ft and rests 5,577 ft above sea-level.

The Pakistan Resolution Day is being celebrated throughout the country with traditional zeal and enthusiasm today (Friday).

Earlier in the day a military parade was held to mark Pakistan Day at Shakarparian in Islamabad.

Pakistan Day commemorates the passing of the Lahore Resolution on March 23, 1940, when the All-India Muslim League demanded a separate nation for the Muslims of the British Indian Empire.

The day dawned with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad while provincial capitals welcomed the day with 21-gun salutes. Special prayers were offered in mosques after Fajr prayers for the progress, prosperity and solidarity of the country and national flag was hoisted at all major government buildings.
