ISLAMABAD: Cellular services were suspended in twin cities on Pakistan Day, as the mobile phone networks went off-line early morning and were restored by noon.
Stringent security measures were in place in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to avoid any untoward incident. Special traffic arrangements were also made to facilitate the citizen. The traffic was closed from Expressway Khanna Pul to Faizabad flyover, according to the traffic plan.
The road from Murree Road to Rawal Dam to Faizabad and from Faisal Avenue to Zero Point to Faizabad also remained closed. The traffic coming to Lahore was diverted towards Rawalpindi from Rawat tea cross while airport traffic reached the Kashmir Highway using Latayar Road.
Heavy traffic entry to Islamabad remained closed from 12am on the Pakistan Day.
