Sindh govt releases traffic, security plans for PSL final day

The Sindh government on Thursday released the traffic plan for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final match day which is scheduled to be played on March 25.

 

As many as 8,500 law enforcement agencies’ (Police and Rangers) personnel will be deployed for the security. Where the police will be responsible for the security inside the stadium, Rangers will take charge inside the stadium. People are prohibited to take any eatables from outside the stadium. People can only buy food and drinks from the authorised sellers stationed at the parking areas.

The authorities also released a step-by-step security plan, according to which a three-tier security clearance would be required for the people to enter the stadium.

PARKING:

All those using private transport would have to park their vehicle(s) at one of the seven designated areas including Federal Urdu University ground, ground beside Hakim Saeed Park, Sunday Bazar ground, Football ground near Millenium Mall, China Ground at Kashmir Road, Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Club and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Club.

All vehicles would be searched by the police and their tickets will be verified by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) staff. Parking would not be allowed to those without a ticket.

SHUTTLE TO DROP ZONES:

From the parking areas, people would be taken by the shuttle service buses to the three designated drop zones: Expo Centre, opposite Bahria University and opposite Agha Khan Hospital. Here again, people would have to go through a physical search carried out by the police.

WALK TO STADIUM:

From the abovementioned drop zones, people would have to walk around 200 to 300 metres towards the gates of the stadium where the final checking would be done. Differently-abled and elderly would be given the facility of buses to be transported from the drop zones to the stadium gates.
