PTUT to impart modern skilled-based technical education to youth: minister

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Schools Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan on Thursday said that setting up the Punjab Tianjin University of Technology (PTUT) was a dream of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

“The chief minister’s dream that has been materialised today will not only benefit the youth of Punjab, but the youth of the whole country will be able to seek modern skilled-based technical education through it,” he added.

In his statement issued here, the minister said that the credit for the establishment of the Punjab Tianjin University of Technology went to CM Shehbaz, who after realising the importance of human resource, decided to set up a world-class university which would impart technical education to the Pakistani youth in Lahore.

He said that China’s cooperation in the establishment of the university was a good omen as it would also support in the development of the faculty, technical staff’s training and other educational affairs.

Rana Mashhood also said that the PTUT had been established as a world-class university according to the global educational and research standards, and the students who get admitted to it should feel proud.

He also revealed that seven major courses of four years duration would be introduced at the institution and initially 400 students would be enrolled in the university. The numbers, he said, would gradually increase.
