ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have completed the preparations for the Pakistan Day parade which will take place on March 23, in which 2,000 traffic and operation division officials will be on duty.
SSP Operations Najeebur Rehman Bagvi said that on the eve of Pakistan Day, there will be a high alert in Islamabad and security has been divided into four zones and four SPs, 14 DSPs and ASPs will be on duty. He added that police commandos will do patrol duty on special check posts and in the vicinity of Faizabad.
The SSP further said that additional force will remain on standby to cope with any emergency.
On the other hand, traffic police on the eve of Pakistan Day chalked out a special plan. In this connection, SSP Traffic Malik Matlub Ahmad said that under the command of SP, four DSPs, 23 inspectors and 646 officers and officials will perform their duties.
He further said that on March 21 and 23 in Islamabad, the entry of heavy traffic will be banned from midnight to 2 pm in the day. However, the citizens have been provided with the alternate routes and ITP radio will keep the citizens constantly aware.
He advised that for their own convenience, the citizens should paste the parade stickers on the front of their cars. He asked that in case of any suspected person or object, people should inform ITP 1135 and helpline 1915.
