–Funeral attended by Bilawal Bhutto, Murad Ali Shah among others
KARACHI: The demised PPP MNA and former provincial law minister Ayaz Soomro, was laid to rest beside his parents in the family graveyard in Shahdadkot on Thursday after his funeral prayers were offered in Larkana.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, former chief minister of Sindh and senior PPP leader Qaim Ali Shah, Home Minister Anwar Siyal, Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani, Imdad Pitafi, Sardar Khan Chandio, Fayaz Butt and many others attended the funeral prayers.
Earlier, the body of PPP MNA and former provincial law minister Ayaz Soomro was brought back from the United States through Emirates — Flight EK-202 — via Dubai after he died in Manhattan on March 20.
The body was received by the family members at Jinnah International Airport Karachi and would be shifted to Larkana via ambulance.
PPP leader and lawmaker Muhammad Ayaz Soomro passed away at a Manhattan hospital early Tuesday morning.
According to the details, Soomro was a heart patient and was being treated at a hospital in Manhattan, New York. He was born on December 31, 1958, and died at the age of 59 on March 20, 2018.
Muhammad Ayaz Soomro was elected as MNA from NA-204 (Larkana) in 2013 general election. Earlier, he was elected as MPA from PS-37 Larkana in 2002 and also served as the Sindh law minister during Qaim Ali Shah’s tenure as the chief minister.
Soomro was a lawyer by profession and remained a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) from Larkana and served as the president of Larkana District Bar for ten years.
In his condolence message, the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari eulogised the “services and sacrifices of Soomro for the party and his lifelong commitment and loyalty to the cause”.
PPP President Asif Ali Zardari also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the death of Ayaz Soomro.
Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Shaikh discharged the board to condole the demise of former Larkana District Bar president and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) MNA Ayaz Soomro.
