KARACHI: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Wednesday remarked that the Mithi hospital head was also responsible for children’s death in Thar.

He was hearing the case of death of children at Mithi hospital.

During the hearing, the additional advocate general told the court that three children died due to the expired vaccine given to them. “The staff of the hospital was found responsible for negligence and were suspended,” he said.

Upon this, the chief justice asked about the effect of the suspension. “People go to the public hospital for getting treatment but instead receive dead bodies of their children,” he remarked.

He further observed that no top official, including the head of the hospital, is being nominated in this case of negligence.
