LAHORE: Former Pakistan cricket team captain and left-arm pacer Wasim Akram has revealed his top local talent picks of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018.
While talking to a private news channel, Akram said that he was not impressed by local batting tatent during this season of PSL. He, however, mentioned Islamabad United’s Talat Hussain as the lone exception. “He is definitely the find of this year,” said Sultan of Swing.
Hussain has played 11 matches from United and scored 194 runs with an average of 38.80. His highest score was 48 not out.
About bowling pickups, Akram praised Muhammad Sami and Rahat Ali.
“Rahat Ali is a different bowler while Mohammad Sami has proved that he is as fit as any young player. If he continues to bowl well, he should be picked for the national T20 team,” Akram stated.
United’s Sami has picked 12 wickets in 10 matches with an average of 21.66. While Quetta Gladiators’ Rahat Ali has played 10 matches and picked 11 wickets with the average of 27.81.
While talking about the new talent, Shaheen Afridi, Wasim Akram said that he has one good spell against Multan Sultans. “He got the potential,” said the left-arm fast bowler.
