NAB is pursuing double standards in dealing with provinces: Babar Awan

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Babar Awan on Tuesday lashed out at National Accountability Bureau  (NAB) over what he termed double standard.  He said, “There are two separate laws of NAB in the country, one for Punjab and other for Sindh”. NAB is pursuing different rules and regulations for Sindh and Punjab, he added.

He was addressing media persons here in Karachi. “People in Sindh are arrested while a Senator in Punjab is on the run”, he added.

He criticised Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and stated that rulers at the federal level and Punjab do not respect the constitution. “Nawaz Sharif used to say that polls rigging matter is decided in courts and not on roads, but now when courts have declared him disqualified, he is saying that court of people will decide about it,” he said.

If PTI would have wished to elect its own Senate chairman, it could have, but we suggested that the chairman should be from Balochistan and Deputy Chairman from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), he claimed.
