LARKANA: Recently elected Senate Deputy Chairman Salim Mandviwalla has said that due to the struggle of Bhuttos, he was elected as deputy chairman in the Senate and it will be run as per the agenda of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

Talking to media persons in Garhi Khuda Bux on Sunday, where he reached for the first time after being elected as deputy senate chairman, Mandviwalla said that he had remained in the Senate for the last five years and knew about the supremacy of the Parliament. He said that all four provinces had equal representation in the Senate, adding that voice will be raised for the rights of the smaller provinces.

Earlier, he along with other PPP leaders laid floral wreaths and offered Fateha at the graves of Bhutto leaders including PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, former slain prime minister Benazir Bhutto and others. “PPP and PTI are the opposition parties. PPP has already nominated Senator Sherry Rehman as their opposition leader candidate.”

Mandiwalla further said that the impact of Senate elections will surely be seen in the upcoming general elections in which, he claimed, PPP will come out with flying colours and will form central and provincial governments.

Senator Ajiz Dhamrah, Rashid Rabbani, Murtaza Wahab, Javed Nagori and other party leaders accompanied the deputy chairman on the occasion. Larkana Mayor Aslam Sheikh presented the guest with traditional gifts of Sindhi cap and Ajrak.

They received a warm welcome during their visit to the Bhutto mausoleum by the PPP activists of Naundero and Larkana.
