BHAKKAR: A man allegedly set his wife on fire over a petty issue in the Bhakkar district of Punjab province.
According to details, Faizullah burnt his wife, Saeeda, by pouring petrol over her due to which 90 per cent of her body got badly burnt.
The wife was rushed to Nishter Hospital, Multan where she died due to the complication of her injuries.
According to reports, the deceased was visiting her parents’ place to inquire after her sick grandmother. She wanted to stay one more day with her parents, but her husband insisted on taking her back home.
Faizullah got infuriated when she refused to go with him and burnt her after pouring oil on her, after which he fled the scene.
Meanwhile, the local police registered a case against the suspect and began a search operation to arrest him.
The District Police Officer Bhakkar has taken notice of the killing of the woman and directed the police to ensure that the culprit is brought to book.
