ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Thursday vowed to oppose the government’s proposed amnesty scheme for Pakistanis to declare their foreign assets as well as the privatisation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM), a report said.

PPP senator and ex-Senate chairman Raza Rabbani called the amnesty scheme government’s plan to “whiten black money”. He added, “This (amnesty scheme) is a matter of grave concern and will be opposed in parliament.”

The PPP said it will also resist the ruling PML-N to privatise the national assets, warning to launch a nationwide protest movement.
