National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has tightened its noose around the corrupt elements of the country by deciding to initiate investigation against MNA Jafar Laghari and Sindh Minister Manzoor Wasan.
The decision to start investigation against corrupt politicians and bureaucrats was taken in a high-level meeting which was held on Friday under the chairmanship of Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal.
NAB spokesman has issues a press release saying that inquiry against two senior politicians and two senior public officers has been started with the consent of the chairman.
The NAB chairman endorsed to start a complaint verification against sitting MNA Jafar Khan Laghari pertaining to encroachment of public land, measuring 2425 kanal from Chandio village falls in the jurisdiction of Dera Ghazi Khan district, worth billion of rupees by misusing his political position.
The chairman also allowed to start complaints verification against sitting minister of Sindh Cabinet Manzoor Wasan for allegedly accumulating assets beyond his income.
Manzoor Wasan hailed from Khairpur district of Sindh and is die hard political worker of Sindh ruling party and is also close aide of former president of Pakistan Asif Zardari.
A day before NAB had started investigation against Mazoor Wasan’s brother Nawab Wasan who is also sitting MNA of PPP and as member of standing committee on petroleum he had highlighted corruption scam of Petroleum Ministry of present government.
According to the complaint, Jafar Khan Laghari is close relative of former president of Pakistan Farooq Laghari and he had encroached public land when his cousin was president of Pakistan by kicking out the poor peasants from the land who had cultivated it.
A complaint verification against KPK former chief secretary Amjad Khan has also been approved pertaining to awarding contract of Korag Kanal worth millions of rupees by violating rules and allowed to chopping off Sheesham tress worth millions of rupees.
He also endorsed to verify complaints against Special Assistant to Sindh Chief Minister Pehlaj Mal for allegedly accumulating assets beyond his income.
