Some 659 PIA employees found having fake degrees, NA informed


ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly (NA) on Thursday was informed that some 659 employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) were found having fake degrees.

In a written reply to the lawmakers, the aviation minister revealed that PIA had 659 employees with fake degrees, out of which 391 have been removed from their posts, adding that 251 employees are waiting for their cases to be heard while investigations against 17 such employees are underway.

The minister also told the NA about losses the national airline has faced over the years, with a loss of Rs43.65 billion in 2017 alone.
