ISLAMABAD: After becoming Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) president, Shehbaz Sharif would need his brother, ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s support for the coveted prime minister slot in 2018 elections, but without giving in to the narrative of Nawaz Sharif, reported a local English daily.

According to the publication, under the current scenario, the new PML-N president has to be cautious and calculated as he has to be seen supporting his brother by the party members.

The Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz’s performance in Punjab was one of the most important factors behind PML-N’s win in the 2013 elections, but according to the publication, the forthcoming elections will have the focus on Nawaz Sharif’s narrative.

Shehbaz Sharif, despite being free from any serious allegations of corruption, has recently come under fire with regard to the alleged corruption of his government. He was also dragged by the media in the alleged Multan Metro corruption story connected with a Chinese company, however, the story was dubious as both the companies denied it vehemently.
