Man kills mother of eight over ‘honour’ in Badin

BADIN: A man surrendered himself to police in Badin after killing his wife by repeatedly hitting her with an axe over ‘honour’, media reports said on Wednesday.

The suspect Mohammad Shareef admitted to killing the mother of eight over suspicion of illicit relations with another man in the neighbourhood, police officials said.

The woman was last seen running out of her home in the street by an eyewitness. She was crying for help while her husband attacked and killed her, the eyewitness told police.

She had three differently-abled daughters.

Badin police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mohammad Salim Khoso said that the woman’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination to the Indus Hospital. The FIR is yet to be registered.

Last month, a 36-year-old woman was allegedly killed in the name of ‘honour’ by her husband in Shikarpur district.
